What a beautiful experience...A couple of hundred devoted Patchworkers ready to give an embroiderer a go.
Experienced Quilt designers Olga Walters, Jan Preston, Dianne Johnston and Faye Cunningham were most welcoming to me as a new tutor for this event and the Committee of The Phillip Island Patchworkers could not have been more accommodating or thoughtful so thank you all so much..especially Beryl who worked so hard all weekend helping and providing me with glasses of water when the words were drying up.
I had 17 enthusiastic and patient students who gave it their all..mastering stitches like Bullion stitch, Seeding,Wool applique, Blanket stitch variations , Stem stitch roses etc.Next week I hope to have some pictures of the event...but here are some pics of a few of the items that the students can make from their stitchery pack.
This then is the pattern for the drawstring bag we didn't make in which to keep the embroidered items that we did make. The circular bag is cut from fat quarters and the inserts from smaller sections.
